The professor argues that Robert E. Peary did not reach the North Pole, and gives three main points to prove her suggestions.

First, the lecturer thinks the investigation was not objective. She indicates that the men from the National Geographic Society who examined Peary's work were his friends. Plus, the conductors only spent two days on the examination. What is more, the committee invested money on this adventure so they had the expectation that the expedition would have succeeded.  Therefore, those people held their own preference and did not make the fair judgement.

Second, the professor points out the fact that even the dogsled and other equipment they used were similar.Tom Avery's experience is dramatically different with Peary's. When Avery made his exploration, he did not take food with him like Peary did, but be supported by the airplane. What is more, dating back to the period when Preat made his trip, the climate was more severe and harsher than today. So it is impossible for Peary to finish the trip in such a short time or reach the North Pole.

Third, the photograph is such an inaccurate one that nowadays we cannot do some precise investigation on it. According to the speaker, it is blurred and faint, even unfocused. So scientists cannot find any valuable information and therefore cannot use them to measure the Surf position. So it is unreasonable to say that Peary had reached the North Pole by the photos.
